In the framework of the project Polish female migrants and their families – a study of care deficit” the research team from the Department of General Sociology and Research on Migrations, Institute of Sociology MCSU organised “Workshops for care experts – problems of migrants’ families on 21 and 22 April 2016 in the room of the Faculty council.

The workshops were conducted in a form of focus interviews with social workers who encounter the problems of migration, especially departures of middle generation, in their professional work.

The workshops were conducted in a form of focus interviews with social workers who encounter the problems of migration, especially departures of middle generation, in their professional work.

In the framework of the project Polish female migrants and their families – a study of care deficit, implemented in the Department of General Sociology and Research on Migrations, Institute of Sociology MCSU we are organising a “Workshops for care experts – problems of migrants’for social workers who encounter the problems of migration, especially departures of middle generation, in their professional work. We would like to deepen our knowledge on the role of social workers in solving potential problems which they meet. how they deal with such problems and who they cooperate with. The workshop is necessary to complete the substantial task in POLFAMIGRA project.

The first meeting at Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology , Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin

According to the project schedule, the first meeting of project team „Polish female migrants and their families– a study of care deficit”will be held on 24 November 2014 in at Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology , Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin.

Project „Polish female migrants and their families – a study of care deficit” is being implemented in the Department of General Sociology and Research on Migrations, Institute of Sociology at Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin in partnership with University of Bergen.

Meeting at Faculty of Sociology, University of Bergen

On 14-15 November 2013, the representatives of Polish research team took part in a meeting with researchers from University of Bergen, project partner. the meeting was held on the Faculty of Sociology, University of Bergen. Its aim was to develop a common research strategy in the project and discuss individual roles in the project. The program included also:

  • discussing the main project objectives, research methods and promotion strategies,
  • analysing project budget and its changes,
  • defining significant research problems, which should be developed in analyses,
  • discussion in support systems for migrants in comparative view (Polish and Norwegian)
  • discussion on the final version of the research questionnaire,
  • developing specific research procedure for task 1 (interviews with Polish migrants in Norway).

Cooperation with Norwegian partner was fruitful. Research tool for interviews was developed. Currently, collecting data is in progress.
