dr Joanna Bielecka-Prus

dr Joanna Bielecka-PrusA graduate of the Catholic University of Lublin, assistant professor in the Department of General Sociology and Migration Studies of the Institute of Sociology at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University. Her research interests are focused on qualitative research methodology, identity and social exclusion. She is the author or a co-author of books on sociology of culture, family, and education (Transmission of culture in the family and school. Theory of Basil Bernstein, PWN, Warsaw 2010), disability (Disabled people in the labour market in the Lublin Region, Lublin 2011), homelessness (Social and institutional aspects of homelessness in the Lublin Province, Lublin 2011) and articles devoted to the methodology of qualitative research. She has participated in projects: NOVASOFIE – Analysing and Overcoming the Social Fragmentation in Europe) under the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission; Social and institutional aspects of homelessness in Lublin province. ” ESF 7.2.1. Professional and social activation of people at risk of social exclusion; Diagnosis of labour market Lublin province in terms of the functioning of the persons with disabilities: ESF 6.6.1 Support for the unemployed in the regional labour market; Cultural Perspective of Lublin – a study on the state of the cultural sector in Lublin and participation. The project was funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the City of Lublin. She is currently a member of the research team in an international project Mobile Identities: Migration and Integration in Transnational Communities, financed by the European Fund for the Integration of non-EU immigrants (EIF) 2013-2015.
